TWE: a Fit Out Case Study

TWE, a multi million pound organisation based in Twickenham who own the key Australian wine brands Wolf Blass, Penfolds, Lindemans initially approached us to see how they could reduce their office space from 20,000 square feet to 17,000 square feet. The initial brief requested that one floor be set aside for meeting space and reception. A wine tasting room and a large lounge area needed to be included.

   

Capex set about the task of creating an interesting and innovative design that would allow for all of the above and make a pleasant working environment for 115 personnel.

   

As the scheme developed clever use of Senator Fairway bench desking allowed us to reduce the floor space to just 10,000 square feet. Thereby halving our client's rental costs and reducing other overheads such as heating, lighting, maintenance and cleaning costs. The board quickly bought into the scheme and Capex set about polishing the design to create something really special. Visits to key supplier showrooms in Clerkenwell by TWE's Trisha Thompson and our design team led to the speedy selection of a great range of furniture solutions to help make better use of the available space.

   

The nett result was room for an open wine display of over 2000 bottles, a large and airy 'Tasting Room' including spittoons, fridges and further wine storage. Additionally, the reception space now included a large lounge with hot desking for a further 12 people. All whilst maintaining the relaxing feel of a lounge.

   

Once the designs had received board approval work raced ahead. The result delighted TWE's board and makes a great showcase for Capex's abilities as an innovative creator of effective workplaces!
